Give way in roundabouts

Riding through a large single lane roundabout at night time, a car was driven into the roundabout failing to give way to my presence. (The law as I understand it is drivers and riders have to give way to vehicles and bikes already in the roundabout. Riders give way to motor vehicles *leaving* the roundabout.).
